Custom component not being displayed in assets pane

I installed AddOn.Episerver.Settings in a CMS 12 project. Acccording to the documentation there should be a settings tab showing up under the assets pane. For me this didn’t show up and I couldn’t figure out why

I even tried to make an own component that should be displayed under the assets pane, but that didn’t show up either. So this isn’t a problem with the addon it self.

Solution

I found an old solution to this after spending some time at google, thanks to this post.

Open Settings under my profile

Click the Reset views button, and the tab should be displayed. View with reset button
